The ethics and ethics of research, the legislation and rules governing it, as well as the institutionalisation of bodies responsible for their oversight, are long-standing challenges for universities worldwide. Modern developments in scientific research are systematically highlighting critical issues such as the informed consent of those involved in research, the protection of personal data, the use of laboratory animals, research on human stem cells, the limits of the application of artificial intelligence, the safeguarding of intellectual property rights and many others.
